There are 2 steps to this.
First, you answer questions when signing up and, optionally, on your profile for further personalization.
Second, every time you follow a link in the email or website, this information is stored and used to make better recommendations for the future.
Us too, this is why we never ask for personal information. Too many services ask for your age, gender, DoB, and random stuff they don't really need outside of building a "customer profile" to better target their ads.
We don't care.
In fact, we even encourage you to use a specially created email if you want to be extra cautious so that no one can tie your preferences back to you.
Nope. It's never shared, and only used to personalize your recommendations.
DateIdeas. Now is only funded by its users. Accepting ads would break the trust they put in us.
Understandable. The reason why DateIdeas. Now is "subscription first" (you can still buy credits a set of recommendations on-demand) is because there is a fixed cost per user to generate each set of recommendations, since each one is unique to you.
Only available to subscribers, it shows you events ranked based on your preferences. You can select the specific days you're interested in and further filter by keywords.
Just like the emails, what you see from the database is unique to you, as rankings are computed based on your preferences.
